Bored With Video Games
Games used to be my pass time, but then there was this stage i went through where i just completely lost interest in gaming. I don’t clearly remember what it was exactly, but it must’ve been because i got bored of. Wow all of the answers on this question (at my time of righting this) are awful. Evidently a lot of people have the false idea that playing video games is bad for you. This is false, and unscientific. If done in excess, of course playing video. Home pcs, and gaming consoles are advanced enough, and getting more so all the time. Here are some weird things we find ourselves doing when bored with main game.

Video games can get real boring when you're blasting through the enemy and overcoming challenges as if you have god mode enabled. Raise the difficulty, push yourself to overcome greater challenges, perform greater feats, do things the majority of gamers can only wish to do. The trick to getting back into gaming is finding titles that offer a modern slant on your favourites of yore.

video games aren't fun anymore.Sorry this video is a bit more serious, next video is a return to form. I just felt like I needed to talk about this heading into the rest of 2022. Hopefully my story resonates with a few people, and hopefully i've convinced you to try out some other genres of games. Discord: discord.gg/mqvnxCBmEZ I’ve been playing video games for, as long as I can remember. I can remember the first time I held a controller in my hands vividly. The sheer size of the Duke way too massive for me at the time, but all that was just background noise in my head compared to the fresh sights and sounds of what is now my second favorite entry in my favorite franchise ever. Gaming during this time period was, limitless. I had no concept of developer or hardware restrictions, the limits of pre-generated responses from NPC’s or content in the game to consume. Halo was an infinite universe to create in and experience, Spyro had no end to the amount of dragons I could rescue, hell I can remember using an action replay in Pokemon Platinum, using the walk through walls cheat, and accidentally finding shaymin at the end of this long path of flowers. Come early 2021 it was time for me to upgrade, and after managing to walk into a best buy and just randomly come across a 3090 that I wasn’t even looking to buy at the time, I knew it was time to go all out. I managed to get a 5950x, the best motherboard I could buy at the time, and some sick RAM, there were NO compromises to this system, besides the fans I was running out of money. I built the computer, ran some benchmarks, and then didn’t play any games. At first I assumed I was just unmotivated, or maybe even burnt out, but over time I came to realize that I just wasn’t enjoying games anymore. I got scared, scared that I spent all of this money on a hobby I wasn’t interested in anymore, scared that the youtube channel I wanted to start was already dead in the water, scared that I’d be giving up a huge part of what formed my online identity. I calmed myself down, and took a step back. It makes sense that I’d start feeling this way about gaming, doing anything pretty much every day for long enough would ultimately become mundane and boring, what can I do to have fun with playing games again. For awhile I was stumped, but during my time I decided to just take a break and work on my Ultrakill video, and while that was technically still gaming, it was mostly for work and I could take the time to figure out what I wanted to really do about my problem. What I found though is that as I was taking a break from playing games for the most part, my desire to play them started rising again. But once I actually managed to get into a game and started playing, my desire to continue playing them would immediately fall, and I’d get off of it within 30 minutes. What I came to realize is that I had no variety in what I was playing. I would get on my computer and boot up the same FPS games, or just open up Minecraft, which I’ve been playing for years as well. I decided to actually take the the time and figure out other genres of games I could play, and I’ve never been happier for it. I realized that what I was experiencing overall wasn’t me not finding games fun anymore, I just wasn’t finding FPS games as interesting. Throughout 2021 I decided to take the effort to branch out into different video games, and what I learned was that I still enjoyed playing video games, I just needed a breath of fresh air. I played games like Forza Horizon, Monster Hunter, Ghostrunner, Spent some time on Spyro, replayed Sonic Generations, Sonic Unleashed, Cities Skylines, Dark Souls, Demon Souls, all of these games made me appreciate just, playing playing games in general, and reignited my love for the hobby. This peaked when Halo Infinite was released. For 6 years I waited for a follow up to Halo 5, I watched any lore video I could come across, scoured reddit posts and twitter threads that discussed what would happen in this game and tried keeping up with the game as much as I possibly could. I’ve already talked about Halo a lot on my channel, so keep my bias in mind, but this game gave me hope for new releases. Did I have issues with Halo Infinite’s campaign, of course, but how GOOD the gameplay was kept me from noticing them as much as I could have. |

The REAL Reason Games Aren't Fun Anymore. According To NEUROSCIENCE. (And how to fix it)Ever wonder why games just become less fun overtime? Why Games are boring these days? Whether it's the gaming industry or something deeper... or if you have video game burnout? In this video we break down EXACTLY what effect video games have on our brains, why games aren't fun anymore, why you have a lack of interest in games and how we can make them fun again. With some research into neuroscience we can understand just what's going on in our heads and take action and countermeasures to bring games back to life. As much as I don't like twitter, I just now made one for your guys :) twitter.com/Liam__Manley Because I too have found that new games just don't interest me. Our brains use a vast network of neurotransmitters which once understood, can completely change the way you see and experience the world around you. Gaming is no exception from this and we can use these tools to reverse the mental patterns that typically arise from overstimulation. #videogameburnout |
Why Is Gaming So Boring Right NowWhy Is Gaming So Boring Right Now? Hello Everyone, in today's YouTube video we talk about the current state of gaming, and why gaming feels so dry at the moment. We have got a lot of new exciting games to look forward to in 2021, but right now there is not much happening and there isn't much excitement with any games either (my opinion of course). We have Scavengers launching in late April and we also have some other new free games to get excited about. I haven't made a video like this before, but I wanted to express my feelings and why I haven't uploaded much on the channel! Follow My Socials Below: |

Why I'll NEVER Play Video Games Again After Learning ThisVideo games are one of the few hobbies that ruin your mind when your doing it AND when you're not doing. Even when you dabble in games your brain gets hijacked and you develop "gamer brain". This is why. #wokelevel9000 #mambameat |
Joe Rogan's Statement On Video Games Is 100% Correct! (And Ninja Missed The Point)Check out my full line of ReviewTechUSA Merch: On the recent Joe Rogan Podcast (Joe Rogan Experience #1514 - Joe De Sena), they were discussing the dark side of video games. Where their hobby is not done in moderation and people miss out on life opportunities due to their obsession with video games (or their obsession with any other hobby for that matter). This, of course, was taken out of context and the gaming community felt attacked by Rogan due to his take. Ninja also put his two cents out there on what Joe Rogan said about video games. There Are TOO MANY Games to PlayInstall Raid for Free ✅ IOS/ANDROID/PC: pl.go-ga.me/wcmlmflq and get a special starter pack 💥 Available only for the next 30 days hey guys another upload lol, don't really know what I'm talking about in this video but hopefully it's entertaining Discord: discord.gg/mqvnxCBmEZ GZDoom mod I talked about: moddb.com/mods/doom-shinobi With that out of the way, the problem that I’ve come to realize I have is that now that I have all of these games I want to play, I’ve created the thing that every single person who plays video games dreads completing the most, their own backlog. I have 38 games in my backlog so far, I’ve managed to play through 2 of them, and I’m 2 months into 2022 so far. How am I supposed to complete all of this, I mean even trying to lowball it I’m looking at like, at least 1000 hours across these games, it took me a year alone playing CSGO to reach 1000 hours, and that’s back when I had literally nothing else to do all day. Obviously the clear answer to this is that I don’t have to finish everything this year, and trust me I know that, but if I go on forever with this massive backlog of games to play, I’ve become a literal walking stereotype. Look at all of these memes made about people who don’t play their backlog, and it’s true. It’s just so much time to decide to dedicate to one thing, and honestly while I seem interested in a lot of these games knowing myself realistically I’m gonna drop some of these. I talk big about Final Fantasy VII, mostly because Sephiroth looks like the coolest villain i’ve ever seen, and have you seen the combat, this looks crazy. But being honest with myself, JRPG’s are the most boring type of game to me, not anything to do with the games themselves, there’s a reason Final Fantasy VII is considered one of the greatest games of all time, Stryxo youtube channel with 70,000 subs saying JRPG’s are personally boring to him isn’t gonna change that fact or bankrupt Square Enix. But I’m trying to be realistic here, on average it takes me like, 100 hours to play through a pokemon game (i’m really thorough with them) and no matter what at the 4th gym I always get bored, put the game down, and pick it up 9 months later. Thankfully because it’s pokemon I can actually pick up right where I left off because all of the games follow the same type of story, but I can’t do that with Final Fantasy. I know for a fact that this is a Rayquaza and he’s really strong and looks cool, what is a final fantasy. 33 hours is just a massive commitment to drop on a brand new game, and it seems so much easier to just fall back on a game that I already know by playing a few matches of CSGO, or playing through all the halo games for the 100th time, or making a brand new city in cities skylines. But doing that only makes it that much easier for me to get burnt out on those games, and then suddenly I’m making a whole new video on that same topic. That’s not even mentioning just how many other things I have backlogs in or want to keep up with. Look at all these anime I still have to watch, and look at the anime I still need to finish watching, I haven’t watched Initial D in 8 months I barely remember what’s happening. This is all without mentioning that new games are coming out faster than I can keep up with, so that’s only more games being added to the backlog every single time I can’t play one. Just this month we’ve had Dying Light 2, Sifu, Lost Ark, Horizon Forbidden West, and we’re rounding out the month with Elden Ring, which at this point is pretty much guaranteed to be a generation defining masterpiece of a game. Which actually now that I think about it is really unfortunate for Horizon Forbidden West because that’s twice now that the Horizon franchise has been overshadowed not just by a new game coming out, but a new game that defines and inspires a generation of games to come. now we have pokemon scarlet and pokemon violet gen 9 as well I mean I eventually have to be able to complete my backlog list right? Like yeah I’m busy now, and I might be busy next week, and the next, but I recently quit my job to fully pursue this youtube, and that has to give me enough time to account for all the new games that are finally coming out now that game companies are getting used to working with the current conditions of the world in mind, and have had time to finish the games that originally got delayed, some for the better honestly. Can you imagine if Halo Infinite came out in 2020? What did that game look like, we barely have content now, what did they even have planned for release. Speaking of new releases, and Elden Ring in general actually, I considered playing it to make a video on it, but souls games are long no matter what, and spending like 50 hours on a new game just isn’t a commitment I’m really ready to make, so onto the backlog list Elden Ring goes. |
