Based on the best-selling young-adult novel by author Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games tells the dark tale of a 16-year-old girl named Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), who is selected to compete in a vicious televised tournament in which 24 teenagers from a post-apocalyptic society fight to the death for the entertainment of the masses. In the future, North America is no more. In its place has risen Panem, a divided nation split into 12 districts. I made this short video 'cause most of my favorite characters from Hunger Games are from the Capitol, like Effie, Cinna... And I really think that these persons that just live in the capitol like Katniss' prep team, are just silly and inocent kids. They just want to have fun, going to partys and making superfluous things. Most of them don't really know the impact that the Capitol have in their lifes and how the Games affect the tributes and the districts, 'cause life in the Capitol is the only life they know, the only life on they had experience . Is what I think.
Anyway, all this excessive things in they are funny. So, hope you like it, and if you have something to say about what you think about some part of the books/movie, please, let's talk!

This is a video sermon I produced as a project for a preaching class at Duke Divinity School. It is addressed to the people of the fictional Capitol City from the book the Hunger Games which is currently being made into a movie. Warning: there are spoilers in this video so don't watch it before reading the book or seeing the film. This sermon would fit at the end of the first book and does not draw on information from Catching fire or Mockingjay. For those who are interested, this is part of my training to become a presbyteral minister in the British Methodist Church.
