It was back in 2001 and Intelligent Systems (a developer closely associated with Nintendo) was developing a #turnbased #wargame for the Game Boy Advance, which would become a reference in the genre in future years, inspiring many games.

Inspired by Advance Wars, Battle Isle and Panzer General, the game offer 2 different single-player campaign, some challenge maps and multiplayer.

10:11 - Tanks of Freedom
Turn-Based Strategy in Isometric Pixel Art developed by indie studio P1X. You can play a campaign against IA or a multiplayer game mode against your friends. Released in 2015 the game still receive updates and new contents.

The Second World War in Advance Wars style.

A fantasy turn-based strategy game with lots of features.

14:55 - Tiny Metal
One of the games that took greater inspiration from Advance Wars so much to call it the spiritual successor.

17:17 - Epic Little War Game
Developed by the same Great Big Wargame developer. Their new game offer new mechanics, cooperative and PvP mode.

18:23 - Codex of Victory
A sci-fi turn-based strategy game where we control drones, tanks and robots. In addition to the units, we will also have to deal with production and construction.

19:18 - Warring States Tactics
A turn-based strategy game set in Ancient China. Graphically well cared, the game offers many single-player missions and other cooperative and PvP modes.

20:29 - Lost Frontier
Turn-based strategy game set in Far West with a 24 level single-player campaign and 20 units type. You also have the “Living Legend”, special units that works as Commanders with lots of special abilities.

21:03 - Wargroove
Developed by Chucklefish, Wargroove is a love letter to Advance Wars. Acclaimed by critics, it offers campaign mode and multiplayer.

22:00 - War Theatre
Aesthetically original, War Theatre offers lots of RPG elements. Choose your hero and face a single-player campaign where you need to complete various quests in order to unlock new perks and other customization options.

Imagine that the classic of the classics Final Fantasy Tactics was merged with the most gorgeous art style of all the video games, yes, I'm talking about Octopath Traveler amazing graphics, from that combination a magical game appears, Project Triangle Strategy, a Strategy RPG(Role Playing Games), a one of a kind SRPG.
And talking about SRPG, imagine if a forgotten game from Intelligent System had a Remake, this couldn't possible happen, right? Wrong! Advance Wars is getting a remake/reboot(good use of words developers, really good), as much as we all like Fire Emblem, it was about time that Advance Wars got his time to shine, the closest of a Advance Wars game that we had was what, Wargrove in 2019, yeah, has been a while(btw, if you haven't played this game yet, I recommend, is such amazing indie game). Back to Advance Wars, has been a while since I didn't played, but by looking the trailer, I feel like they changed the balance of the game, i guess? It surely feels different of what I remember, but anyway, I'm anxious to see how the game will be.
Now Metal Slug Tactics... what is even this madness, a Run'n Gun Series going on Tactics mode now, wow, one of the most fast-paced action games, turned into a slow-paced strategic game, what unexpected turn of events, but a good event nonetheless, I can't shake the feeling of Mario + Rabbids though, it surely will feel like playing the other game(jugding by the trailer only).
Vivid Knight, cute anime girls, dungeons, roguelike game, it surely looks fun, bright and loud, it screams, LOOK TO ME!, and well, it worked, I'm interested on this game already.
And there's even more "Anime" games this time, Eternal Radiance, a very intense Action-RPG game, with nice graphics and good music.
Of course we have some pure RPGs too, one Published by good and old KEMCO, and the other a new Chrono Trigger, yeah, the developers deserve all the love that they are getting, cause this game really looks like Chrono Trigger, what an amazing work, have I said that Yasunori Mitsuda is working on the music of this game, yes one of the members of the original Dream Team that made CT, what one hell of man to be on your team, he worked not only on CT, but Chrono Cross and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the man is a beast. And this graphics, what is this game graphics, it's so beautiful and fluid, one could say, Masterpiece.
Justice Chronicles has his fair share of originality too, the old school art style, the classical old RPG combat.
Teamfight Manager talks about organizing your team, but the combat is actually chaotic, and I love it, nothing better than a bit of chaos in the morning.

Wargroove might look familiar to people who've played Advance Wars. That's because Wargroove uses a lot of the same mechanics and gameplay that Advance Wars was known for. In today's Wargroove review, I discuss how Wargroove gameplay is very much like Advance Wars, and how that's totally okay with me because Advance Wars is a dead franchise. I give my opinion on Wargroove and it's new expansion, discussing the various aspects of the turn-based strategy game and what I like and dislike about it. I will say that overall, I quite like Wargroove and think it's a worthy spiritual successor to Advance Wars, an Advance Wars sequel so to speak.

In development log #1, we'll cover what I am trying to create, how I am going about it and what current progress has been done. The game I am attempting to make is called Pico Strategy and I want it to be a spiritual successor to the Famicom and Advance Wars series of games. So far I have the engine and backend picked out and development is already underway for the multiplayer portion of the game. I have also put together some art assets, but it is uncertain if they will be final.

Crazy game I came across between two top 10 Fog players on AWBW.

Like many people, I have VERY fond memories of Final Fantasy Tactics, so while we have not gotten a new entry in AGES, indie developers are picking up the slack with a number of fantastic tactics RPGs worth checking out!
