A windowed mode for a software application is a mode in which the program appears in a smaller window rather than on the device's full screen. This display mode is a typical part of many applications made for Microsoft Windows and other similar OS designs.

We all run software and games all time in windows PC. Sometime we need to run them in windowed mode because of some reason.

So in this video I want to show you how to run any games and software in windowed mode.

For those of you experiencing issues when trying to start the game, you may try forcing the game to run in windowed mode or at a lower resolution.

In order to do so, please follow the steps provided below:

Right-click on the game icon shortcut in the Windows Start Menu and choose Properties
Select the shortcut tab
Click on the "Target:" field, and scroll to the end.
Add a space after the double-quote and then type your desired parameters. Available command line parameters are:

-w [Start in windowed mode]
-r:XXXXxYYY [ e.g. –r:1024x768 would set it to 1024x768]

Click the OK or Apply button to save your changes.
Launch the game by clicking on the shortcut.

Have you ever tried to run a game in windowed mode but you could not find any option to do so? Do not worry. You can easily run any game in windowed mode using "DxWnd". In this video I show you how to use DxWnd and run any game in windowed mode in Windows 11.

How To Make Source Games run smoother with same graphics quality | Borderless Window Method working 2022.
What this does is that it makes your game run in a window that has no borders, and thus looks like fullscreen. Thereof this method is also called "fake fullscreen" makes also alt+tabing work flawless.

It is insane but it works, e.g. Garry's Mod FPS is now much higher for meow! ;)

This means your performance will increase if your computer is not a space-ship, and if it is the games will be less heavy on the system. This is the best method for most people as graphic settings will be the same as before while you get a smoother game.

In addition to that alt+tab-ing will be much faster (instant) as the games run in a window (that looks like fullscreen), so if you are like me and have the web browser, or program by choice, in background while gaming you will be able to switch without problems.

I always get asked by my viewers about Window Borderless and how I am able to do it with Arma. I use a program called "BorderlessWindowed" which allows me to take almost all games that have a window mode and force them into window borderless. I use it because as a broadcaster.. no proper windowed mode is never fun and it is such a useful feature to have.

How to use (AUTO MODE):

1.) Download
2.) launch game
3,) Press Add
4.) Populate list with game(s)

Notes:

I personally set it to Hotkey mode because the program sometimes takes any program you pull up when alt+tabbing and maximizes it, so it is extremely annoying

In order for this to work properly make sure DayZ is in windowed mode, for example in my startup parameters I type: -window -x=1920 -y=1080

This program works on many games that do not have window borderless but it won't work on all.
