I think this might be the first documented video of Reel Time.

The mechanics of Reel Time seem to be very sparsely documented on the internet, and perhaps for good reason. As I found out during the two hours I spent recording this video, it's just not worth anyone's time unfortunately.

FAQs:
How often does Reel Time occur?
- The frequency at which the fancy spinner appears seems to be random and very rare, and does not seem affected by how many lightning bolts you've acquired.

How did you get Reel Time to land on a number above 0?
- This appears to be affected by how many lightning bolts you have. The higher it is, the more likely it is to land on a higher number, with fewer lightning bolts almost always resulting in 0. However, I've managed a 1 with less than half the bar filled, and two 0's with the bar completely filled, so the correlation seems a little loose.

What exactly happens during Reel Time?
- There is only one thing I can say for certainty - during a Reel Time spin, the reels always stop exactly when you press the button, unlike normal where the reels often "slip" a few spaces to give or take away winnings. I'm uncertain about anything else.

How did you get the reels to slow down here?
- This is the part that I'm very unsure about. This video shows my fourth successful Reel Time ever, and the only one where I've been able to get more than 300 coins. Bulbapedia currently says that the reels slow down after a loss and speed up after a win, but as I've personally seen during my other three Reel Times, the first part isn't always true. The second part is, though, as far as I know.

What happened during your first three Reel Times?
- First: Landed on 1 with the power bar less than half full. Reels spun very fast, and I couldn't match anything. Reel Time ended. Won nothing.
- Second: Landed on 4 with the power bar completely full, like in this video. Reels spun very fast on the first round, didn't match anything. Reels spun very fast on the second round, didn't match anything. Reels suddenly spun VERY slowly (slower than in this video) on the third round, matched a Big Bonus (300 coins). Reel Time ended automatically because of that, skipping the fourth spin.
- Third: Landed on 5 with the power bar completely full. Reels spun slowly (like in this video) during the first round, but failed to match anything. Reels spun very fast in the second, third, and fourth rounds. During the fourth round I randomly managed to match a Replay. The Replay counted as my fifth round, spinning very fast. Won nothing.

Anything else?
- I've never seen the reels spin slowly after matching anything, even if it's as mundane as a Cherry (2 coins) or even harmful like a Replay. The reels may or may not slow down (?) after missing.
- The top left slot machine appears to have statistically better than average odds. I can't say for sure that it's the best one out of all of them, but I was able to get from 100 to 5000 coins in one session without having to ever reload a previous save.
- Reel Time will, more often than not, give you nothing. As I mentioned above, this video is my fourth successful Reel Time, and the only time I've ever been able to get over 300 coins. You'll get a lot more than that just blindly spamming A outside of Reel Time, at least on a good slot machine like the top left one. Feel free to try matching something if you have precise timing or get a lucky slow spin--after all, the reels don't slip at all in this mode--but prepare to be disappointed. That 660 coin Big Bonus they 'advertise'? Forget it.

New and simple strategy for winning jackpots and unlimited coins on the slot machines at the game corner in Celedon city! Works on both Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green.

There are alot of different methods out there. Some say to look at the Clefairy, some say it's best to spam until you win, and some try to get the first two and time the last seven. This method is very simple to follow and you will get back to back jackpots after setting it up and practicing for a couple of minutes.

Ugh, as I explain in the video, I'm so frustrated at myself for NOT SAVING THE DAMN GAME before turning off the console, argh! Anyways, we stop in at the Game Corner, aka casino (seriously Nintendo, you promote that kids should gamble??? =P) where I miraculously walk out of the building with only 1 game coin left after the experience. Oh well, at least we got a free Pokemon doll worth 1000 coins...
