This video aims to show you all how you can easily activate any PKG formatted games to install on your PS3 console using PS3HEN's on the fly activation features. Version 2.0.2 of PS3HEN introduced this feature which allows you to painlessly activate any PKG games you have, assuming you have matching license files for them. Unlike the previous HAN method of repacking and resigning these games to your specific console, this method requires no additional processing of your files!

This tutorial will cover how to perform this all from a flash drive, however if you wish to load your RAP activation files from your hard drive, you can do so by placing the RAP files in "/dev_hdd0/exdata/" on any version of PS3HEN 2.1.0 or higher. If your game is a C00 type of licensed game as opposed to a traditionally licensed game with a RAP file, this will also show you how to activate your C00 type games as well!

This guide assumes you already have a console with at minimum PS3HEN 2.0.2 installed and running on it, however I will have my guide linked lower in the description showing how to get set up with HEN on any model PS3. Remember this is not a CFW, however HEN does an excellent job helping to bridge the gap for people who want homebrew access without needing a CFW capable console!

Finally, this method is intended for backup purposes. The games demonstrated within this tutorial are games I own and have been selected for that reason. You are responsible for obtaining your own files for use with this method. No assistance can be provided in regards to sourcing these files.

A major limitation of installing PKG files from a USB device on the PS3 is being forced to stick to the FAT32 file system. You typically have to take an extra step to format large drives to this, and this file system doesn't support any files larger than 4 GB in size. However thanks to a write-up posted by PSX-Place user Louay, we now have a clear cut method of installing any PKG files from exFAT or NTFS USB drives! This does not require FTP transfers, nor does it require splitting up a PKG, just copy it to the correct folder and mount it!

This method of PKG installation requires you to have either a jailbroken PS3 console running custom firmware or a console modified with PS3HEN. This video will assume you already own a modified console and have at least a basic understanding of how to navigate it. webMAN MOD and prepISO will be required in order for this to work, if you choose to follow along. Lastly, you will still need a FAT32 formatted USB drive to do the initial installations of webMAN MOD and prepISO, after that any PKG files you wish to install can be copied to an exFAT or NTFS formatted USB drive.

Additional Information:

• For this guide I'll be utilizing my PS3 that is flashed to 4.84 Rebug DEX Firmware however this method works just fine with HEN/HFW Firmwares.

• It's mandatory that you have your games .RAP file (activation file) for this process.

• SEN Enabler is only for CFW users, so if you on HEN/HFW please do not install it as it will cause you to lose HEN.

I recode it for Irisman to launch the game, when you quit the game you will notice PS1 disc format just use webMAN to unmount it.

In this tutorial I'll showcase on how to successfully installed HEN which stands for Homebrew Enabler, and allows your PS3 to run backup managers/games/unsigned code.

DISCLAIMER: However there a limitation to note and there are things that a CFW system can do which a HEN enable system can't.

★ Prerequisites:

• Any PS3 System *FAT/SLIM/SUPERSLIM*
• 4.84 Firmware or lower. *can’t be done on higher firmware*
• Your systems needs to have the latest version of HAN & HEN installed for this process
• Any PS1 Game that is a ISO or in BIN/CUE format.
• Multiman/Webman Mod
• Optional: Cover-Art or Wallpaper
• USB Stick that is formatted to FAT32
• FileZilla FTP Client: Only if your games is over 4GB in size.
